so yes i am going to dedicate this post to kanye west even though his ego doesn't need any more feeding. yes, kanye is one cocky guy but i can't deny it... he has one hell-of-a sense of fashion. i was watching mtv the other day and realized that the rappers/"gangsters" dress like well-dressed men and i think the credit should go to kanye. remember the days when puffy and jay z used to sport their labels like sean john and roca wear with their shorts down to their ankles and their shirts down to their knees? when kanye first showed up, he was sporting ralph lauren and his louis vuitton backpack. sooner or later,the kanye fashion phenomenon started and the hip hop world began to look a little bit better. when i heard the "because of you" remix he did with neyo, i had to rewind the song to actually make sure if he said 'lanvin'. you hear 'gucci,' prada,' and 'burberry' in a lot of the rap songs but do you hear brands such as marni, comme des garcons, or maison martin margiela? im pretty sure if you ask kanye, he'd know them.

first, he collaborated with marc jacobs for louis vuitton, then takashi murakami did the music video for "good morning," and now he's featured in vogue.

im just sayingggg....i think he does deserve the fashion credibility he is getting (even though he talks too much about himself). i mean, go ahead and walk down soho and walk into any urban/street clothing store, you'll see the effect he's made. not to mention, his music videos are like art.
